Experimenting With Film- Preliminary Task.

Experimenting with film.

In our first lesson, we got set a task to pick out different camera angles. Seeing as i did GCSE media, i already knew most of them so this was a piece of cake!
The camera angles i do know are;
close up,
extreme close up,
mid shot,
long shot,

over the shoulder shot
and i could go on!

Our first project in media was to experiment with filming! The second lesson we then got set a new task of creating our own little clip of filming. We got split into groups of four, our group consisted of me, Shannon, Toby and Jacob. We got the idea in our heads of roughly what we would be filming and then went outside to experiment. Toby was the camera man, Jacob and Shannon acted in it and i was the 'director'.

So, we just got Jacob to walk down the corridor outside our classroom and we filmed him from four different angles. We then tried our best to get some match on action and filmed his hands close up, opening the door and cut that in as he was just about to in the long shot. We also tried to follow the 180 degree rule by having Shannon walk in and have a conversation with Jacob, while Toby stayed on one side of them with the camera.

I actually really enjoyed making this because not only did I do some media work, it was also very fun! i can't wait to start a proper one soon!
